Paige Spiranac didn’t hold back when a social media user tried to body-shame her.
On April 1, the golf personality shared a video on X where she was setting up her new golf bag while dressed in a fitted purple outfit. One commenter, Patrick Micafee, took a swipe at her appearance, writing: “Had to start that second shot with your a “on the camera. Real classy, Paige.”
Instead of ignoring the remark, Spiranac fired back confidently. She posted a comparison photo showing her body a few years ago alongside a recent shot from the video, adding: “I went from having my back connect to my thighs to this.”
She went on to say, “It’s not the biggest peach now, but I’ve been working harder than ever in the gym and with my diet. Heck yeah, I’m going to show it off! I’m proud of how far I’ve come and the effort I’ve put into my fitness.”
The 32-year-old, who turned professional in 2015 after graduating from San Diego State, has often faced criticism over her style and social media presence. Recently, she also addressed long-standing rumors that she used “sexual favors” to land an invitation to the 2015 Dubai Ladies Masters.
Speaking on the Quiet Please! podcast with Ladies European Tour pro Mel Reid, Spiranac admitted that the event was a low point in her career. She recalled missing the cut with rounds of 77 and 79 and facing backlash for both her play and her growing social media fame.
Despite the criticism, Spiranac built a thriving career as an influencer, amassing 4 million followers on Instagram, 1.6 million on TikTok, and even appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2018. She returned to the magazine’s pages as part of its 60th anniversary “legends” lineup in 2024.
By embracing her journey and proudly showing her progress, Spiranac continues to silence critics while growing her brand on and off the golf course.
