LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson has openly criticized Santa Barbara County Supervisor Laura Capps, calling her actions “unethical” in a recent social media post. He accused her of letting personal emotions influence legal decisions on permit appeals.
The controversy stems from a video shared by NewsmakersWithJR, where Capps voiced opposition to CDP permits and discussed political issues. Mickelson responded strongly, condemning her alleged use of personal politics in governmental decisions.
Mickelson also targeted Superior Court Judge Donna Geck for issuing restraining orders blocking oil transport through Las Flores Pipeline. He accused her of misusing state law to undermine federal authority during a national energy emergency.
Despite his criticisms, Mickelson praised Judge Anderle for fairness in handling the same permit issue. The golfer, known for sharing political opinions, recently endorsed Senator John Kennedy as his favorite U.S. senator.
