Revealed: When Sam Kerr looks set to FINALLY return for the Matildas after her injury and court case hell

Sam Kerr is set to make her long-awaited return for the Matildas in a high-profile friendly series against Argentina. The first match is scheduled for May 30 at Marvel Stadium, followed by a second on June 2 in Canberra.

Kerr has been sidelined for over a year after suffering a serious ACL injury during Chelsea’s training camp in Morocco. Her absence has been deeply felt, especially during the Matildas’ underwhelming Olympics and SheBelieves Cup performances.

Despite Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor ruling her out until mid-April, Kerr’s recovery appears to be on track. Her comeback is expected to boost ticket sales and morale as the team prepares for the 2026 Asian Cup.

Kerr was also recently found not guilty of racially aggravated harassment, allowing her to shift focus back to football. Off the pitch, she and fiancée Kristie Mewis are expecting their first child, marking a momentous year both personally and professionally.
