Rickie & Jordan didn’t get a sponsor invite to the Arnold Palmer Invitational. So who did?

Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth were notably absent from the list of sponsor exemptions for the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Instead, the four spots went to Rafael Campos, Mackenzie Hughes, Min Woo Lee, and Justin Rose, with an additional exemption awarded to Auburn sophomore Jackson Koivun. These selections sparked debate, as Fowler and Spieth, both well-known names, were left out despite their popularity.

The tournament’s sponsor exemption process remains unpredictable, influenced by factors such as rankings, past performances, and promotional value. Campos, who wrote a compelling letter to tournament organizers, and Hughes, who barely missed automatic qualification, earned their spots. Lee, an emerging star with a strong social media following, and Rose, a former U.S. Open champion and long-time ambassador, rounded out the selections.

With a $20 million purse on the line, the 72-player field at the Arnold Palmer Invitational will face a 36-hole cut to the top 50 and ties. Sponsor exemptions have become crucial in an era of high-stakes, limited-field events. While Fowler and Spieth had chances to qualify, various challenges prevented them from securing spots, leaving them out of this prestigious tournament.
