Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis have tied the knot, celebrating their love in an intimate wedding held in Perth on New Year’s Eve.

The Australian football icon and the US soccer star exchanged vows in Kerr’s hometown in Western Australia, marking a fitting end to an unforgettable year for the couple. In May, they welcomed their first child, a son named Jagger, making the occasion even more meaningful.

The ceremony was kept private and took place at a home with around 120 close friends and family in attendance. As the sun set, Mewis walked down the aisle wearing a white gown and a flowing veil, while Kerr arrived looking sharp in a black tuxedo — baby bottle in hand, a sweet nod to their new life as parents.

Their son Jagger also played a special role in the ceremony, being carried down the aisle by Kerr. Mewis had previously admitted the moment would be emotional, saying she expected to be in tears when it happened.

Kerr and Mewis first began dating in 2021 and made their relationship public during the Tokyo Olympics, when cameras captured Mewis comforting Kerr on the field. After months of speculation, they announced their engagement in 2023 with a simple Instagram post showing Kerr down on one knee, captioned with the date: “September 1st, 2023.”

In the lead-up to the wedding, Mewis shared several social media posts, including photos of the couple dressed in white with the caption “tomorrow,” alongside emotional and heart emojis. Kerr also joined in, posting a gym photo the day before the ceremony and joking that it was the “last day” she’d have to hear about wedding prep.
