Kerr’s absence has been felt by the Matildas, who struggled during the SheBelieves Cup campaign. Her return ahead of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup could provide a much-needed boost for the Australian squad’s form and morale.
Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor confirmed Kerr won’t play before the next international break. While fans hoped to see her against Manchester City, the forward’s focus remains on a careful return to top-level competition.
