Kristie Mewis, partner of Chelsea and Matildas star Sam Kerr, has shared the unusual nickname the couple uses for their baby boy, Jagger — “Mr Moo Moo.”
Mewis, 34, who gave birth to Jagger in May, made the revelation in an Instagram post earlier this week. Kerr, known for her sharp wit, quickly responded with her own tongue-in-cheek suggestion, joking that their son should instead be called “Mr. sh*tthrougheverything.”
The lighthearted exchange came just days after Kerr reached a major career milestone. The Australian striker scored her 100th goal for Chelsea in a 3-1 Women’s Super League victory over Aston Villa. The strike also marked her first match back after 20 months on the sidelines, having suffered a ruptured ACL during a training camp with Chelsea in Morocco.
Reflecting on the achievement, Kerr said: “I’m a goal-scorer, that’s what I love doing. Those 100 goals represent a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. For me, it’s an amazing achievement and something I’ll look back on for the rest of my life.”
Remarkably, Kerr reached the milestone in just 128 appearances for the club. Manager Sonia Bompastor praised her return as “perfect,” noting both her resilience and importance to the squad. “For me, she’s an idol,” Bompastor said. “She doesn’t like the spotlight, but she deserves every bit of recognition after everything she has been through.”
Attention now turns to Kerr’s potential return to international duty. Under new head coach Joe Montemurro, the Matildas are scheduled to face Wales on October 25 and England on October 28 in preparation for next year’s Asian Cup in Australia.
