Lexi Thompson’s return to the LPGA Tour in 2025 has proven difficult. At the JM Eagle LA Championship, she missed the cut by two strokes despite a late run of birdies, finishing 2 under par against a 4-under cutline.
Following her semi-retirement announcement, Thompson clarified that she was stepping back from a full-time schedule, not the game entirely. She emphasized prioritizing personal time and mental wellness, playing only when fully ready and mentally prepared.

However, her limited participation may be impacting her form. Despite solid performances earlier in the year, including a T13 finish at the Founders Cup, Thompson’s inconsistency continues to raise concerns about her competitive rhythm.

In her Instagram post, she admitted frustration but expressed gratitude toward fans and sponsors. While she plans to play selectively in 2025, her recent results suggest she may need more tournament reps to regain her competitive edge.
