Lexi Thompson and Brittany Lincicome are making a swift return to the LPGA Tour at the 2025 Founders Cup. Despite announcing their reduced schedules last year, the Florida natives will compete in the LPGA’s second event of the season, beginning February 6.
Lincicome, a two-time major winner, received a sponsor exemption, while Thompson secured her spot through her ranking. The tournament, now hosted at Bradenton Country Club, will see World No. 1 Nelly Korda defending her title, though the event was previously the Drive On Championship.
Thompson, engaged during the offseason, finished tied for 16th last year in Bradenton. While she plans to limit her schedule in 2025, she has not disclosed how often she will compete. As a past Chevron champion, she remains exempt for the year’s first major.
Lincicome, 39, prepared for her return with her annual lefty day, shooting 38 at Pasadena Yacht and Country Club. She played alongside former pros, enjoying a lighthearted warm-up before rejoining the competitive circuit. The Founders Cup carries a $2 million purse
