Serena Williams is turning heads once again. The 43-year-old tennis legend posed in delicate baby blue lingerie on Instagram this week, showing off her toned frame just weeks after publicly revealing she turned to GLP-1 medication to help shed 31 pounds.
In her caption, the mother of two wrote: “Dressed to the nines… and on cloud nine. In satin swimwear of course.”

Williams’ post comes shortly after she opened up about her struggle to lose weight following the births of her daughters, Olympia in 2017 and Adira in 2023. Despite years of training and strict dieting, she admitted she could not return to her healthy weight on her own.

“I literally was playing a professional sport, and I could never go back to where I needed to be for my health, no matter what I did,” she said on NBC’s Today. “I don’t take shortcuts, but I needed help.”
The former world No. 1 has now partnered with Ro, a telehealth company that prescribes GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. Her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, is also an investor and board member at Ro.

Williams recently launched a campaign with the company, stressing that turning to medication should not be seen as the “easy way out.” On the same day, she shared more photos online, including shots in a bright yellow swimsuit, striking confident poses in the water with the caption: “Melanin mellow-yellow.”
The 23-time Grand Slam champion has been hinting at her transformation for months, regularly posting swimsuit and workout photos highlighting her sculpted abs, lean legs, and defined arms.
Reflecting on her journey, Williams told People magazine she had found it “hugely frustrating” not to return to her pre-pregnancy body despite intense workouts. After careful research and waiting until she stopped breastfeeding, she began weekly GLP-1 injections earlier this year.
The results, she said, have been life-changing. “I lost over 31 pounds, and I’m more active now. My joints don’t hurt as much, I have more energy, and I just feel really good about it,” Williams explained.
While the champion admits her body has gone through many stages, she embraces each change with gratitude. “Right now, I love that my body is not picture perfect,” she wrote earlier this year. “Loving yourself is essential.”
