Tennis legend Serena Williams has revealed what she believes will remain her greatest treasures once she eventually steps away from the game.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion, still competing at a level that defies her age, admitted that when the time comes to retire, she’ll hold on to two things above all—her unforgettable memories and her vast collection of trophies.
“The best thing I’ll take from tennis after retirement is so many amazing memories and also a tremendous amount of trophies,” Serena said when asked about her future.
While fans may dread the thought of her leaving the sport, Williams’ determination and sharp performances suggest retirement isn’t on the immediate horizon. She continues to train with intensity, proving that there are still more victories and milestones to come.
Yet, despite her extraordinary record, one target remains just out of reach. Since her triumph at the 2017 Australian Open, Serena has been in pursuit of her 24th Grand Slam title. Achieving it would tie her with Margaret Court’s all-time record for the most Major titles in tennis history.
Williams made a strong push at the Australian Open earlier this year, defeating tough opponents like Aryna Sabalenka and Simona Halep on her way to the semifinals. Although she fell short of the ultimate prize, her hunger to match Court’s mark is as strong as ever.
