Serena Williams has drawn attention with her remarkable post-retirement physique, looking strikingly different from her playing days. The tennis legend, who stepped away from the sport three years ago, has maintained her athletic build and recently responded to critics questioning her transformation.
Her sister, Venus Williams, returned to the WTA Tour at 45, and Serena has also kept herself in peak condition. Last month, the 23-time Grand Slam champion showcased her toned abs in gym photos on Instagram, captioning them: “Working out and working on my angles.” Fans flooded the comments with praise, including supermodel Naomi Campbell.
The 43-year-old further wowed followers during a holiday trip, posting photos in a bright-blue bikini aboard a yacht. While many admired her look, she also faced criticism over her changing figure. Stopped by TMZ in New York, Serena brushed off the negativity with confidence, saying: “Look good, feel good, right? … Everyone looks great!”
Reports suggest she has lost 44 pounds since giving birth to her second daughter, crediting a plant-based diet and cryotherapy sessions, which expose the body to freezing temperatures to aid recovery and fat loss.
Williams has also taken on a new role as the first-ever women’s health advisor for Ritual, where she promotes her daily supplement routine, including multivitamins and probiotic blends.
Beyond fitness, Serena continues to balance family life with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their two daughters. Ohanian recently revealed on social media that their daughter Olympia earns a £5 weekly allowance for chores, under a “contract” negotiated by Serena herself — securing weekends off for her daughter. “We’re teaching her that work equals reward,” Ohanian explained, adding that Serena acted as Olympia’s lawyer in the deal.
With her continued discipline, confidence, and ventures beyond tennis, Serena Williams shows she remains as driven in retirement as she was on the court.
