Stalking Trauma Shadows Emma Raducanu as She Makes Raw Confession Ahead of Grass Season

Emma Raducanu has shared raw details of the emotional toll stalking has taken on her life and career. The 2021 US Open champion said she “no longer felt safe” after repeated harassment left her fearful and unsettled.

Earlier this year, Raducanu broke down mid-match at the Dubai Open after a man repeatedly approached her courtside. With no full-time coach present, the 22-year-old admitted the incident deeply affected her performance and mental state.

Now back with coach Nick Cavaday, Raducanu feels more supported as she returns to grass. “I’ve noticed people watching my back,” she told BBC Sport, though she remains cautious and alert when out in public.

Despite a recent back injury limiting her court time, Raducanu remains determined. She’ll debut at the Queen’s Club historic women’s event, eyeing a fresh start before Wimbledon—focused not just on winning, but reclaiming peace of mind.
