Serena Williams recently shared a humorous yet touching post about her daughter Olympia’s growing up — and it immediately drew affectionate reactions from Venus Williams’ fiancé, Andrea Preti, and close friend Caroline Wozniacki.
On Thursday, October 30, Serena took to Instagram to post a carousel of seven photos. The first two showed her and Olympia in the present day, while the others were throwbacks from Olympia’s younger years. The final image featured a heartfelt note from Serena to her daughter that read:
“Dear Daughter, I hope you can always hear my voice saying ‘you’ve got this’ when the world feels too loud. Love, Mom.”

The 23-time Grand Slam champion added a witty caption:
“At first they are sweet, then they get sweeter… Or something like that.”
Andrea Preti quickly commented with a warm message to both Serena and her eight-year-old daughter:
“Hi girls ❤️❤️❤️.”
Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki also showed her love for the post by dropping three red heart emojis in the comments.
Serena Williams Once Shared Her Wish for Olympia to Have a “Normal Life”
Olympia, born in September 2017, is Serena’s first child with husband Alexis Ohanian. Shortly after becoming a mother, Serena revealed in an interview with *Vogue* that she didn’t want to pressure her daughter into following her footsteps in tennis.
Reflecting on her own childhood, Serena explained that she had missed out on many ordinary experiences while chasing tennis greatness — something she hopes Olympia can enjoy.

“I was distraught when I saw her watching Juan Martin del Potro on TV,” Serena said with a laugh. “I would hate for her to face comparisons or expectations. It’s so much work, and I’ve sacrificed so much. I don’t regret it, but I’d love for her to have a normal life — something I didn’t have.”
In 2023, Serena and Alexis welcomed their second daughter, Adira, nearly a year after Serena’s emotional retirement from tennis at the US Open.
