World No. 2 Nelly Korda has pulled out of the International Crown later this month due to injury, leaving the United States team without its highest-ranked player. Yealimi Noh has been named as her replacement.
Korda’s withdrawal comes shortly after a strong showing at the LPGA’s Lotte Championship in Hawaii, where she finished inside the top five and briefly shared the lead during the final round. Despite her form, LPGA and tournament officials confirmed on Sunday evening that Korda would not compete, citing injury concerns.
The updated U.S. lineup will now feature Angel Yin, Lauren Coughlin, Lilia Vu and Noh.
There have also been changes to Thailand’s squad. Pajaree Anannarukarn has been added after Patty Tavatanakit withdrew. The defending champions will now consist of Anannarukarn alongside Jeeno Thitikul, Ariya Jutanugarn and Chanettee Wannasaen.
The International Crown is scheduled for October 23–26 at New Korea Country Club in South Korea.
Korda’s decision was unexpected. After completing her final round in Hawaii—her first appearance at the event since 2021—she had indicated that the International Crown would be her next stop. However, that plan quickly changed, with officials later confirming she was dealing with an injury.
Observers noted no visible signs of discomfort during her week in Hawaii, where she played solidly throughout and remained in contention late on Sunday before a costly bogey on the 16th hole slowed her charge.
The 27-year-old has built a reputation for prioritizing her health, often choosing not to compete unless she feels fully fit. Speaking after her round in Hawaii, Korda admitted that the long season takes a toll, explaining that lingering injuries from previous years require daily physical therapy and treatment.
